According to LTNA’s by-laws every household and business within the Neighborhood has one membership in the Association. However, in 2022 the City passed its revised Neighborhood Association Recognition Ordinance which requires that Neighborhood Associations revise their by-laws to have another, more limited, membership called “Volitional Membership.” This is an individual (not household) membership based upon having signed a document indicating your intent to be a volitional member. It is not dependent upon or related to payment of the $35 voluntary fee. It is these volitional members who may vote if/when the Association takes a position, as an Association, on any policy or political issue of the City. LTNA has never done this and does not expect to do so in the future.
Should you want to become a volitional member you may mail us, at LTNA, PO BOX 66862, Albuquerque, NM 87193, a letter requesting volitional membership with your name, address, telephone number, and signature.
